How quickly we forget our history! Five presidents have been shot at so far; Presidents Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy and Ronald Wilson Reagan. Ronald Wilson Reagan survived and stayed as the 40th president of the United States. Each of these men brought something different to the table during their time, marking them for death. With the possibility of harm to the leader of our free world in mind, by guns and their wielders no less, how perplexing is it to see guns at a presidential rally? How disturbing is it to see that there is a higher probability of an attack just by the mere fact that there are more guns per person per rally? I am all for gun ownership and freedom, but leave them at home when you know you're going to a presidential rally. For the sake of history, let us not permit the sixth bullet.
Say for argument's sake, you go to a gun rally just to express your freedom to bear arms. Some nut sees all the guns as a free weapons shop. He carefully picks out the best one, wrestles it from its owner, and aims. What then? It's not the gun owner's fault, is it; after all, he just came to express himself. How was he to know that some nut will take advantage of his right? How was he to predict that his gun will go down in history as the one who shot...Are you kidding me? I am not even going to go into guns around African-American leaders...
We really need to think before we do things like this, for the sake of our president, the security of our country and the stability of this FREE world.
